The making of this exhibition is with the idea of showing the way that Mexican see death; from my dedicated and personal view I will attempt to portray the mixed feeling of morn and joy, tragedy and fun. The fear to death itself and how different these feelings are expressed in Mexico, where playing with death, making fun of it, or simply having it close is part of the rich Mexican culture.

The cult of the death had a special and fundamental significance among natives. Based on those ceremonies, Mexicans today have inherited a number of ritual, offerings and behaviors that surround every funerary event.

My purpose in making this work is always a search of my own origins, because when seeing how Mexicans experience death, I find my self, my family, and my aunt's Tere house, where a rolled tapestry could mean anything from a party to a funeral. Because in México everything is a reason for a reunion and party, all even death.
